Ann is haunted by a past that won’t
let go. The secrets lurking in Arizona are too much to handle, making a move to
Nashville her best chance of survival. Her bakery is enough to keep her mind
busy during the day, but the night brings nightmares that threaten to rip her
in two. Tired of just living life rather than experiencing it, she’s ready to
fight her demons and emerge the victor. Only—she doesn’t know how to do
that alone. Duane has a lot on his plate. A
lawyer for a prestigious law firm and a ranch owner, he hardly has enough time
to breathe, let alone date. But all of that changes when he meets Ann. A chance encounter at a bar brings
them together, but it’s fate that shoves them into each other’s lives for
reasons they will soon unveil together. Can Ann open her heart and let
Duane in? Unable to Resist is a story about
love, loss and finding healing in unlikely places.
I bring my mouth to his chest and
kiss along the contours of his body. Slowly stopping just above his pant line.
Grazing my teeth along the edge of his skin, I hear Duane hiss. I lift my head
looking into his eyes. He returns my coy smile, but this time the smile reaches
far beyond his eyes. Putting his hand on my chest,
between both breasts, he pushes me gently toward the bed. Once the back of my
legs hit the soft blanket, I sit down, opening myself up to him.
Standing between my legs, he combs
a hand through my hair, relishing in my kneading hands. Grabbing his ass, I
pull him to me. Kissing and sucking my way up his body. His skin twitches under
my touch, letting me explore. Smoothing my hands up and down the back of his
thighs, I rock his shaft against the mounds of my breasts. “Holy fuck, Red,” he says as his
head falls back, savoring the sensation.

This love story is a very well written piece full of wonderfully swoonwothy love!! When you think of a debut novel falling within the reigns of YA or NA you think of lots of drama and other issues. That is not the case with this book. Within the pages you are introduced to two people who have been hurt in the past and trying to find their way; while along the way they find each other. Once this occurs, one falls hard but sees he needs take it slow because the girl is scared and has erected a fortress around her heart. He slowly breaks down the walls and opens eyes to see that it is okay to let someone in again. While he supports her and helps her to let go, she helps him to learn to live again.
Duane is a cowboy/lawyer who was always extremely to busy with his career to let someone in. Ann and Duane meet one night when he goes out with his brother and a few friends to a bar. When he meets Ann his breath is taken away...love at first sight, if you believe in that he. At this time, he is unsure of himself and how to move forward with this breath of fresh air. Duane is the all "American" guy...the total package. Although, he exudes sexy and confidence he also sees Ann needs to be eased into a relationship and into being loved. This guy will have your heart ladies. Ann likes Duane even dare I say loves him but is afraid due to her past. Her past is not simply one where you fall in love and and cheating happens...NO, hers is not heartbreak...Hers is a tragic loss that cripples her both emotionally and physically.
Fate steps in a second time after Ann and Duane’s brief encounter at the bar. Duane shows up on Ann’s doorstep as her new Attorney to help with her father’s unsolved case. At this point neither realize the attraction that the other one has. The sexual chemistry between these two were out the roof ...it was quite funny to see them fight their emotional ties and chemistry while trying to stay at a professional level rather than just giving in to it and going carnal on each other.
‘It’s moments like these when you begin to appreciate all of the hell you went through and endured because it only made you better. It made you stronger. It made you who you are today. Find a way to thank the people who made your life miserable. Make them understand that, because of the shit they put you through, you refuse to back down. Live to prove yourself right. It only takes one second to change your future. So, follow your heart. Take the time to laugh and play-find the good in every moment.’
A story of love, healing old wounds and opening a world of romance, support and kindness. A beautiful wooing of a girl by a boy who just wants to love her with all his heart.

8 Fun Facts about Unable to Resist:
Ann is Cassie’s middle name and Duane is Cassie’s husband’s middle name.
Ann is Cassie’s middle name and Duane is Cassie’s husband’s middle name.
Ann is originally from Arizona, as
is Cassie.
Cassie has an intense love for
baking, which is why she decided to write Ann as a baker.
For most of her life, Cassie rode and
showed horses. She felt like she had to write a badass cowboy because they are
seriously amazing.
The song, Unable to Resist was
written by Cassie and her best friend April.
Liv and Mia are both based on
Cassie’s best friends, April and Sandra.
Jason was inspired by her friend,
David.
Originally, Unable to Resist was
set in Seattle, and Duane wasn’t a lawyer, he was an author.
Cassie Graham is first and
foremost, a wife and mother. She has one crazy daughter and a just as nutters
husband that she loves dearly. She lives in sunny--all be it, scorching
Arizona, where the summers are ridiculously hot and the winters are perfection.
She'd pick winter any day.
Cassie went to school to be a
teacher, but quit to become a proud military wife in 2010. During that time,
she found her passion to write. Being a loud and proud choir girl in school, she
needed another creative outlet and writing seemed like the perfect fit.
If Cassie isn't writing, she's more
than likely cooking for her family or has her nose buried deep in a book. She
finds inspiration in all things. Movies, music, and life fuel her characters’
lives, and she wouldn't have it any other way.
