Synopsis: Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world-to engage in the turf war with the lessers. He's got nothing to lose. His heart belongs to a female vampire, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. If he can't have Marissa, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers...
Fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, he's found by a miracle, and the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back. But even her love may not be enough to save him...
4 Stars!
Review: I struggled with Butch and Marissa's story, for some reason. I really liked both characters, and I think that Butch has been a great addition to the Brotherhood's group since the first book, but their story just did not pull me in as much as some of the others, so far. I have been trying to figure out why this is, as Butch and Marissa sort of have this Romeo and Juliet quality to their story, which I usually love, but Marissa also comes across somewhat blandly, at times. I think, in many ways, that is probably a huge part of her story and her past, as part of the glymera, and as Wrath's former shellan, but it also makes it hard to really feel drawn to her.
Butch has been somewhat like glue to the Brotherhood. As a human, he is able to be their eyes, at times, such as during the day, or to get information that the Brotherhood could not get as easily. He has been drawn to Marissa since he saw her. He is amazed at her beauty, as well as how fragile she looks but how much strength she actually holds. He does not feel worthy of her, however, as he is a human, and he also has a dark past with his own demons. Marissa's strength plays a huge part in keeping Butch together, however, once he is dangerously injured. Marissa's strength, that is, as well as Vishous's mysterious powers.
The author's writing definitely improves with each book that I have read in this series, and I am continuously impressed with how she weaves all of the stories together, as though you are watching a series. She also brings twists and turns that tie up or create new story lines in very creative ways. Butch, who never seemed to fit in within his own family, while growing up, feels more connected to his new Brothers. In many ways, that is because he has the ability to be part of them - as well as a new ability that is somewhat of a secret weapon. Just when I think all hope is lost for Butch, there is another twist. So, just like glue keeps things together, Butch does this for the Brotherhood, and I hope he continues to do so, along with continuing to encourage Marissa to become more strong in herself, as well.

Review of Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover
Synopsis: Welcome to the Point
There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.
Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.
Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.
Bax terrifies her, but it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize that some boys are just better when they’re bad.
4 Stars!
Review: Bax has been in jail for five years, now, after he took the fall for his best friend, Race. Only, it turns out that he may have been set up by someone close to him, so now that he is out, he is looking around for answers. He comes across Dovie, whom he initially thinks is weirdly innocent and out of place in his world, but as she is connected to Race, he vows to protect her - at least until he gets some answers of his own. The two of them have some dangerous connections, however, so they basically go from one dangerous situation to the next.
This book was a solid good book, but it also seemed to sometimes stretch what seemed realistic. Bax was a pretty hardened guy, understandably so, given his background, and he was pretty tough on Dovie, but he also sometimes seemed to go too easy on her, at times. His story had some surprises to it, though, that I didn't catch on to for quite a while, and I always enjoy when I am surprised and don't see something coming from a mile away.
Dovie's story was pretty heartbreaking, though. She comes from a bad situation, with parents that didn't want her and a broken system. Race found her when things were pretty bad, so she is determined to find and help the one person that saved her and seemed to care anything about her. She had a quiet strength, as well as a stubbornness that probably comes with the hair. I really liked her character, and I liked the idea of her and Bax, since they don't initially seem to match. I'm a sucker for the couple that brings out each other's strengths - or just provides strength for one another. I do feel like these two do that in their race against time to find Race (pun not intended) and to make sure that they would all live through the coming events. In a dangerous world of crime lords, criminals, mob type protectors goons and drug dealers - Bax has to prove that he is made of some pretty tough stuff...but so does Dovie.

Review: The Young & The Submissive by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob, Isabella LaPearl
Raine Kendall has everything a woman could want…almost. Sexy, tender Dom Liam O’Neill is her knight in shining armor, but Raine is constantly pinching herself. Is he too good to be true or is this growing connection one that could last a lifetime? She’s constantly torn by her abiding feelings for her commanding boss, Macen “Hammer” Hammerman, especially in the wake the mind-blowing night he cast aside the barriers between them and ravaged every inch of her body.
Hammer, Liam’s former best friend, can’t stop coveting Raine. But Liam is determined to hold and guide the woman he loves and see if she can be the submissive of his dreams. However, he’s finding that her trust is hard won and he needs a bloody crowbar to pry open her scarred soul. So he risks everything to win her once and for all. But once he’s put his daring plan in motion, will it cost Liam his heart if he loses Raine to Hammer for good?
REVIEW:
After having read the first book as part of a blog tour, I just had to know how where this story was going so I bought it. I was not disappointed. Well, I take that back. I was but only because the next one is not out until February. I don't like waiting. Especially with the cliffhanger of this one! With that being said, this book is so well written.
Hammer has always loved Raine and paid close attention to her. Raine however, wasn't aware how close until he asks her about her period and knows that she is five days late. She always assumed that Hammer just looked right through her or thought of her as a little sister. However, she is collared to Liam now and all his. Raine still has trouble letting go of the past, trusting others, communicating, and opening up about her wants and needs. It is hard for her to believe that Liam does want her and loves her. She is just waiting for something bad to happen.
Liam tries his best to reach her and in one last attempt, he uncollars her. (Dumb move) In hopes that she will cool down and think or run to Hammer, Liam gives her space. His one command, Don't leave! Thinking she is the reason for the two no longer having a close friendship, she doesn't run to Hammer. Instead of hanging around and dealing with what going on she runs. Just one of the ways she tries to cope. Well of course, this sets Liam and Hammer in a panic (once they realize she's gone) but it also gets them to communicate with each other but it doesn't heal their friendship, there's still tension.
Because she knows the two will worry themselves sick, Raine has a plan to let them know she is okay. She goes to the Dom you would least expect, Beck. This is one Dom who grew on me in this story and I'm curious about him. I'm wondering what his story is! Anyway, Beck becomes her sounding board and advocate. (See why I'm loving him?) Also, Liam's friend Seth steps in to help. These two Doms are not taking either Hammer or Liam's side but are there to help Raine. She opens up to them and trusts them since there's nothing for her to lose with them.
In order to help Raine heal, she is going to need all these men. Can Liam and Hammer get over their differences and jealousy and be the Doms she needs? Can Raine truly open up to these two and bare it all?
Watching Hammer and Liam overcome some things themselves all to meet the needs of Raine is fascinating. Neither Dom is perfect but both want Raine to reach her full potential. When these two end up in a fight though, it is priceless! I love how men can hash it out, come to blows, then in five or ten minutes, be buds again. Blows my mind! Can't wait to see what happens in book 3 and if it all works itself out.

“I like to come in here when I don’t have time to head to the gym. I can knock out an hour in here before or after work and not have to spend the time driving to and from the gym. Makes it easy.”
He walked a few more feet and sat me on a large red yoga ball. Steadying myself, I looked up at him in wonder.
“So are we…?”
“Take your shorts off and spread your legs. Turn toward the mirror, sweet girl.” He watched my every movement and I could see him hardening under his boxers.

Review of Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood #3) by J.R. Ward
Synopsis: In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other - six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Of these, Zsadist is the most terrifying member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.
A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion—until he rescues a beautiful aristocrat from the evil Lessening Society.
Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for one another begins to overtake them both, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now, Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past, and find a future with her…
5 Stars!
Review: Zsadist's story was so heartbreaking! As Ward slowly weaves each Brother's story into the others, you already get to see how trapped Z is by his past. He has scars, not just on the outside of his body, but also deep inside of him, as well. Bella, the female vampire that brought John and Mary to the Brotherhood's attention, has been drawn to Z since she met him. She tries to reach out to him, but he is unwilling to open up to anyone else. When Bella goes home, she is captured by one of the lesser, who sees Bella as someone that used to be close to him, when he was still alive. He decides to keep her as his wife, unbeknownst to his other lessers.
The Brotherhood, and Z, specifically, look for Bella for weeks. They finally get lucky and get information about where she is being held. Z feels a strong connection to Bella, even though he continues to push her away, so he has to be the one to find her and bring her home. Thus begins the battle between the two of them - Z to stay away from Bella and Bella to capture Z's heart from his past. The scenes from Z's time as a Blood slave are very difficult to go through, for they are so heartbreaking - not just for his physical violation but also for how he gives up on himself.
Bella's fight for Z is to help him find himself again - and also to help Phury, Z's twin brother, who's fate is forever tied to Z's. Zsadist will not be rescued easily, however, as he faced much abuse and violation and does not feel worthy of Bella. For her, however, his brokenness is a part of what she loves. Her love for him and her fight for him made this story truly beautiful to watch because the Brother is supposed to be the strong warrior, and yet, I think Bella shows more strength than Z in this book.

Genre- BDSM Erotica
Men and women see the world differently, as do dominants and submissives. A Condo With Two Views is told from two perspectives: Jack’s and Chloe’s. Jack is a loving and protective... husband, but with a kinky penchant for sharing his willing wife. Chloe is smart and strikingly beautiful, and obeys every command from her husband, no matter how perverse. Each gives their view of the story: one where Chloe must submit to a grungy caretaker, a sexy lesbian couple, an evil developer, an older sadist, and the list goes on. But, what happens when she’s pushed too far? Is the deep love of a husband and wife more powerful than the bond of a dominant and submissive? What will win out, love or bdsm?

By day I work in Marketing, which involves a fair amount of writing. Therefore, I never really had an interest to write for pleasure. When you do it all day, the last thing you want to do when you get home, is more writing. All the while, as my career progressed, so did my involvement in the BDSM lifestyle.
This interest in kinky sex started in my University years. Like most men, I loved meeting women, and especially the occasional one who didn't mind being tied up, or blindfolded, or spanked. All sex was great, but kinky sex was more exciting, more exhilarating, and more fulfilling.
Over the years I was lucky enough to meet my fair share of submissive women. And don't for a minute think these women were weak. Outside the bedroom they were confident, opinionated, gregarious and self-assured. However, inside the bedroom (so to speak) they wanted to feel the strong firm hand of a dominant man taking complete control.
Eventually I found the perfect partner, and am happily in a relationship.
One day, I flipped my laptop open, and to my surprise - I had an urge to write a BDSM story. Soon I had 20 pages, then 40, then 60. The novel that resulted was 'Testing the Submissive'. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and the reviews excellent - all of which motivated me to continue writing. 'A Condo With Two Views' is my second full length novel, with other projects in the works. If you decide to give any of my writing a try, I hope you enjoy it!
