REVIEWS:

Hammer and Liam finally broke down Raine's wall! YES!  But Liam's ex-wife comes back. NO! This is how book 2 ends and these authors sucked me right back in with book 3.  I loved how the authors had me guessing as to why the ex is back.  Just when I thought I had it figured out, I was taken down another path or somewhere unexpected.

Hammer and Liam get through to Raine to be honest and how important it is to them Do they follow their own advice?  One man would love to be honest but one man wants to protect her.  I was torn for these three.  Yes, they are wanting to protect Raine until they have the facts but at the same time, BE HONEST!  It's what the two were working with her at the cabin.  However, as her Doms, they know what is best for their sub.  Will Raine trust these two or will she do as she always does and run?

Between these two Doms, I would fall for Liam.  I mean, come on, Hammer had his chance.  I know he loves her but he didn't do anything for so long and Liam....well, he only meant to push Hammer but fell in love.  Poor Liam goes through so much in this book and I got to see more about his past that helped me to understand him better.  I also loved reading how Hammer and Liam could just communicate with a look.  These two are so connected with each other and with each Raine.

My only complaint about this book.....another cliff hanger.  I hate for the book to ever end but I just want these three happy.

Honesty and Communication...Honesty and communication...these are the keys to having a successful Dom/Sub relationship between Liam, Macen, and Raine.  In book 2, both Doms finally come clean and decide to give the threesome a go and what happens...the dang ex-wife calls!!  I was so furious and then had to wait to see what happens in the next book.  The writing styles are amazing, keeping you guessing at each and every turn.  At various points in the book you think you have an idea about where the story is going...guess what...WRONG!!!  These twists and turns keep you pulled in all the way to the end.

After a wonderful night of making love to Raine, Liam is awakened to his phone ringing.  This one phone call puts Raine's training on hold and makes her begin to question if Liam and Macen can be true to their two guiding principles...honesty and communication.  Well the road back to Shadows begins to get quite bumpy and Raine believes that Liam doesn't feel the way he says he does due to his behavior.  While at the same time, Macen believes telling Raine will only damage her psyche and push her to run yet again.  With two different perspectives on honesty and communication, needless to say, Raine begins to doubt.  Will she continue to doubt or will the facts play out and solidify their threesome without the shadows of past relationships both living and dead?  Hmmm....not going to tell.  Pssst....go get the book.  You will love them.

As for who I would choose...my choice is Liam.  I feel Macen has had his opportunity and has passed on it for several years.  It isn't until Liam makes his interests known does Macen even pay Raine attention...other than coffee, cookies, or cooking for special occasions. In book 3, Liam is under fire from someone in his past who wants to be in his life again.  He is trying to take care of Raine while taking care of an uninvited visitor. All the while it seems Macen gives Raine what she needs to get out of her head.  I loved getting more of the backstory into both Liam and Macen's lives.  I just totally have a soft place in my heart for Liam.  I don't know if it's his smooth talking and the accent I hear in my head, but I totally fell for him...hook, line, and sinker. I can't wait for more...Liam, Raine, and Macen.

REVIEW: 

After having read the first book as part of a blog tour, I just had to know how where this story was going.  I was not disappointed.  Well, I take that back.  I was but only because the next one is not out until February.  I don't like waiting.  Especially with the cliffhanger of this one!  With that being said, this book is so well written.  

Hammer has always loved Raine and paid close attention to her.  Raine however, wasn't aware how close until he asks her about her period and knows that she is five days late.  She always assumed that Hammer just looked right through her or thought of her as a little sister.  However, she is collared to Liam now and all his.  Raine still has trouble letting go of the past, trusting others, communicating, and opening up about her wants and needs.  It is hard for her to believe that Liam does want her and loves her.  She is just waiting for something bad to happen.

Liam tries his best to reach her and in one last attempt, he uncollars her.  (Dumb move)  In hopes that she will cool down and think or run to Hammer, Liam gives her space.  His one command, Don't leave!  Thinking she is the reason for the two no longer having a close friendship, she doesn't run to Hammer.  Instead of hanging around and dealing with what going on she runs.  Just one of the ways she tries to cope.  Well of course, this sets Liam and Hammer in a panic (once they realize she's gone) but it also gets them to communicate with each other but it doesn't heal their friendship, there's still tension.  

Because she knows the two will worry themselves sick, Raine has a plan to let them know she is okay.  She goes to the Dom you would least expect, Beck.  This is one Dom who grew on me in this story and I'm curious about him.  I'm wondering what his story is!  Anyway, Beck becomes her sounding board and advocate. (See why I'm loving him?)  Also, Liam's friend Seth steps in to help.  These two Doms are not taking either Hammer or Liam's side but are there to help Raine.  She opens up to them and trusts them since there's nothing for her to lose with them.  

In order to help Raine heal, she is going to need all these men.  Can Liam and Hammer get over their differences and jealousy and be the Doms she needs?  Can Raine truly open up to these two and bare it all?  

Watching Hammer and Liam overcome some things themselves all to meet the needs of Raine is fascinating.  Neither Dom is perfect but both want Raine to reach her full potential.  When these two end  up in a fight though, it is priceless!  I love how men can hash it out, come to blows, then in five or ten minutes, be buds again.  Blows my mind! Can't wait to see what happens in book 3 and if it all works itself out.

Macen, aka Hammer, took Raine in when she needed it most.  He has protected her for so long, even scaring other Doms away but he never helped her to truly be a submissive or claim her for his own.  It's not until his best friend Liam claims Raine that Hammer has a tough time.  Hammer should have stepped up.  He played with all the other subs, why not claim her and train her?  Why was he not honest with Liam? Yeah, the more I write this review, the more I'm disliking the guy

Then there's Liam. Poor lad. He was only trying to help Hammer to see that he was in love with Raine but in turn Liam falls for Raine himself.  He only meant to put a training collar on her and teach her the ways or to have Hammer fight for her.

Raine wants to open up but has difficulty. She needs to give herself completely and utterly to Liam but how can she when she still sees Hammer, everyday.  A man she has loved for so long.  It's not until she is whisked away from Shadows that she makes progress but dang it, Hammer still gets in the way.

Raine, Liam, and Macen.  A love triangle.  Can the two alpha Doms ever be friends again?  Will their past sharing haunt them or will they finally communicate with each other?  Will Raine be able to truly submit to a Dom?  Can she figure out how to let Hammer go and love Liam?

I'm torn between the two men.  As much as I want to punch Hammer, once you find out about his past, you soften a little.  Things makes some sense.  Then there is Liam. He was only trying to open his buddies eyes but in the process gives his heart to Raine.

I can say that this book was amazing and I couldn't put it down once I started it.  In One Dom, there is what seems like a tug-of-war between the characters.  You are introduced to Raine, Macen (Hammer), and Liam.  Raine, the heroine, has some pretty deep issues spawning from her childhood.  She is an emotional HOT-MESS who believes she is undeserving of love, her self-esteem is in the gutter, and she is starved for affection.  She is this hot-headed woman, who has an extremely difficult time holding her tongue when she gets mad.  Boy does she ever let Macen know how she feels...Raine has fallen for Macen, the man who removed her from her life as a run away and set her on her own two feet.  She received her college degree but instead of pursuing her dreams, spends her days working in a BDSM club owned by Macen aka Hammer.

Macen is also damaged and has a very specific type of woman he needs.  This is due to losing his wife because of his proclivities.  He wants to spare Raine of this so he pushes her away and loves her from a distance refusing the love he so deserves as well. During his parade of dungeon women, he forces Raine's hand in declaring her love for him. He quickly shuts this down, but it doesn't stop Raine.  She breaches security during the night and makes her way into Macen's room.  Boy does it get hot in there...I won't tell you what happens but All HELL BREAKS LOOSE!!

After all hell breaks loose, Liam, Macen friend, wants to push Macen into seeing how he feels for Raine.  His plan doesn't go exactly as planned.  Instead of Macen seeing how he feels for Raine, Liam falls for her.  Honestly, I would too.  He is loving and compassionate all while being the Dom she needs.  He is not afraid to show her how he feels.  He seems to know how to reach Raine, while establishing trust.  Due to Raine sneaking into Macen's room, she is to be punished.  Needless to say Liam didn't like how the scene was going down.  Beck, a sadist, was administering Raine's punishment.  Let me just say...it seemed it would have hurt like hell.  I am no way a pain junkie. Anyhow, Liam steps in...

Raine is stuck between two Doms...who will she choose...I'm not telling you that.  Will she choose or will she walk...breaking both Macen and Liam's hearts? I will tell you this book is awesome and I can't wait to begin the second, the third, and however many is in this series.  Be sure to grab this one...
