EXCERPT

I start to feel a little dizzy and I stumble on the spot. Colt takes hold of me and pushes me against the wall with his body holding me upright.
“Sorry I can’t stand still and I’m so drunk I can’t hold us both up unless we’re up against the wall,” he chuckles.
“I don’t mind being the meat in this sandwich between you and the wall,” I say and then giggle, followed by a hiccup. Did I, Delia Norman just say that? He chuckles and smiles. The heat of his body against mine is doing crazy things to my libido right now. I figure this is the last time I’m going to see the rock God Colter Slade so I decide to just go for it.

Release Day Blitz: Deception by K.A. Robinson

Description
Please note: This isn’t your typical love story. Things are messy. Characters aren’t always what they appear to be. Wrong decisions are made. If you’re not a fan of the darker side of love, this might not be the book for you. Read at your own risk.

I’m strong—or at least, I want to be. I try to be. Oh, how I’ve tried.
But life screwed me over. When I was at my weakest and lowest, desperate and alone, he found me.
Robert changed everything. He gave me everything.
He was every woman’s dream—rich, powerful, and charming. He made me forget the fact that he’s twenty-four years my senior.
He made me feel alive, and for the first time in my life, I was content.
Until I met Cooper—his son.
And Robert? He began to change.
I’m despicable. I know I am. I’m ashamed of what I want.

Things are never what they seem.

Greed.
Lust.
Lies.
Murder.

Deception.

"I have no idea what you’re talking about.” I whispered as I took a step back. My back hit the wall, but he continued to step closer. He stopped right in front of me and rested his hands on the wall next to my head so that he caged me in.

“You’re a terrible liar, Claire. Even now, you want me. Your pupils are dilated and your breathing is uneven. You know what I can do and you want it. You want to be the one on my bed with my head buried between your legs.” He leaned closer so that his lips touched my ear. “All you have to do is ask. I promise you’ll be screaming when I’m done with you.”

Blog Tour for Roman by Kimber S. Dawn

Roman is a man of little words and lesser morals. He's a man who accepted his demons long before the average person even realized they had any. Roman has never felt emotions like guilt, shame, or remorse.

Roman has also never felt love, sympathy, or compassion.  Roman has never felt love. Jaded for reasons unknown with more money at his disposal than he knows what to do with, Roman's walk to the dark side began long before his first kill. He will taunt you, he will make you hope and watch in amusement as you fall for him, believing you're the one who can save his soul. Believing you're the one who can get through because the other twelve failed, you'll know to the marrow of your bones how lucky being number thirteen really is…

How do I know all of this? Because, my name is Heather Mackenzie and I've been number thirteen for a lot longer than I ever intended to be.

*****5 Effing Stars*****

Where do I begin with Roman?  I can say this...I have been anxiously waiting for Kimber to finish this one.  I have read all of the books she has published and loved each one of them. However, I believe this is the darkest one she has written yet.  While I love all the rainbows, butterflies and happily ever afters, I am also drawn to the dark side.  In this book, I most definitely get what I crave...unpredictability, twists and turns of the plot, emotional instability, and graphic details seared into my mind. If you like all that, then read Roman and have your dark needs met.

When I finished reading Roman I believe my mouth dropped open and I was utterly speachless and in shock. This book will have you twisted, sad, hopeful, impatient, doubtful, pissed off mad, excited and not in that order

Roman is the devil incarnate, seriously. He is pure evil and he knows it. I loved and hated him throughout this book. Heather was a very strong willed woman with 3 brothers. She is a cop working on a case going undercover watching to see if Roman is responsible for the death of 12 women. Will she be number 13? I'm not sure if she was doing this to catch Roman or to prove he was innocent.  The farther into the book I got the crazier I thought Heather was.  Going into any relatioship, a woman believes she can change the man.  Heather knew what she was getting into with Roman because of the 12 others...was she number 13?  Did she change him?  Did he want to change?  I can't tell you...you will just have to read it for yourself. What I can say is this...my heart literally shattered reading this book and I'd highly recommend it if you like a DARK romance. Go ahead and jump in...no testing the water.  ENJOY!

Who is Kimber?
Shit, sometimes even I don't know. However if I had to type up an author bio (which, son of a bitch, I do) this is how it would read. BTW, caught a lot of shit for this author bio. Really don't give a fuck though, because I was asked to type up a bio. And if I can only say one thing for certain about myself, it's this: I'm real, I don't back down from what I believe, I say what I mean, and I mean what I say. I don't bite my tongue and I never try to hide the ugly parts of who I am... You either love me or hate me, but if you love me... I'll always be loyal, no fucking matter what ;)

I can be called a billon different things—daughter, mother, labor unit nurse, queen bitch, best friend, a lover, and a fighter. I've recently gone through some shit in my life I would have never believed possible, much less believed I would survive and come out conquering feats of which aren't usually met by a small town southern girl. Either fucking way, I came out on top and stronger than before, and though I've been through hell and back, I'm still just lil ole me... a book blogger, book pimp, and a book whore. My two indulgences remain to be my Jack’s in life…Jack Daniel’s and Blackjack. My biggest dream, the day I'll acknowledge that I've succeeded in life and can I die a happy woman, is the day I get to go two stark-naked hour-round sexual bouts with Jason Statham. *Sighs*
I was born and raised in Louisiana… and No, I do NOT live in a bayou, I actually see the beaches on the gulf coast more than I see a bayou, lol. I started writing poems and short stories very early in my life. You know, for the Michael's and Leo's and Nick's in my life. I've been a book hoarder since I was eleven years old, but then a couple years ago something wonderful happened! The 50 Shades of Grey craze brought to life my inner smut whore and I commenced to read anything and everything smut affiliated. When reading wasn't enough anymore and I noticed that so many of the authors of my favorite indie authors and their books weren't getting the exposure their work deserved, I turned it into a mission, starting my own blog, buying their books and reading them one by one. I then wrote my reviews for my blog and didn't hold back in writing them (Hell yeah those motherfuckers a profanity laden). I've never done a single thing in my life halfway. I always go all in. After the success of my Blog, and the insistence of one of my bestest friends, my sister from another mister, Trina Taylor of Bad & Dirty Books, I was ready to finally take the plunge and see if I could write a book that was worth a damn.
I'm a Southern girl to my core, a self-proclaimed smut whore, and I keep hearing that I’m an author, but honestly… I don’t believe the rumors. I don’t feel like a kickass bitch spittin’ out lyrics, or stories, like a motherfuckin’ rockstar.

Tattooed across my ribs are the words I have always lived by: 'Aut viam inveniam aut faciam tibi.' Latin for: If I cannot find a way, I will make my own.

If you want to contact me, give me a shout out at 3am because my story just decimated your work day potential, or hell if you want to stalk me (I’ve met some of my BFF’s that way, don’t judge a stalker, they are awesome, fun, kickass bitches) follow me on these links:

The telltale crackle of the old vinyl record fills the air as Elvis’s deep smooth
and sensual voice dances in my brain. The song is contagious and I find myself humming along as I walk down the hallway to her room to find her already perched at the seat in front of her vanity. I stand there, unbeknownst to her, watching as she readies herself. She’s wearing her silk dressing gown and for a moment I pretend that she’s not a prostitute. She looks like an average middle-aged woman; her brown eyes and hair a mirror image of mine. But then her robe falls open, revealing her lacy bra and bringing me back to reality. That bra will attract more than one Joe tonight. Countless hours of my life have been spent watching her. Hell, there was even a time where I adored her. I love my Momma, I do, but I can’t understand how she could have allowed me to grow up with all this surrounding my innocence. It doesn’t seem fair, and I can’t help but hate her a little bit for it.There is no handbook to guide the daughter of a hooker, but it didn’t keep me from trying to figure out my messed up mind. In desperation, I had even Googled “How to cope with your mother being a prostitute” before. It ended up being a bunch of psychobabble bullshit, leaving me with nothing but my own thoughts.
As I continue to watch her I feel sadness. There’s so much I’m missing out on. I’m no fool and I know that. I’ve read enough books to know that children aren’t supposed to worry about their moms like I do. Day after day I worry if it’s going to be her last; if this will be the day that she attracts the wrong Joe and he takes her from me; that this might be the day she actually drinks herself to death. All things a girl my age shouldn’t have to think about when it comes to their momma. After a few quiet minutes her familiar eyes meet mine in the mirror and I force a smile, trying to hide my sadness. “Presley, baby girl,” she coos. “Come help me.” Moving on just like nothing happened, but I know she knows. She’s no idiot. She’d ended her night blacked out drunk, even so she knows she didn’t just miraculously wake up in her bed, perfectly cleaned and tucked in.I go to her, and she hands me her favorite pearl necklace. She lifts her long brown hair off the back of her neck before turning and smiling at me. “Did I ever tell you about that necklace?”I nod, but she ignores the fact that I’ve heard the story a million times and starts telling it anyways while I fasten it around her neck, her fingertips running along the smooth pearls. “This necklace was your great-great grandmother’s—” “Who came over to America from Spain.” With a roll of my eyes, I finish the sentence for her. I know the story. At this point, I could probably tell it better than her. The story is one I've heard a million times over. The rich Spanish monarch who cast out his daughter for daring to fall in love with the wrong man. The story of how the two of them fled in the dead of night and snuck aboard a merchant ship headed for American shores to ensure they remained together, for better or worse, was one that would have been romantic . . . had it not ended in him dying of scurvy while they made their journey. Even if some semblance of sweetness could be recovered from the fact that she found herself pregnant with his child, thus enabling her to carry a piece of her one true love throughout her life, it would be dashed by the fact that her great-granddaughter chose to recount the story time and time again, all the while wearing her prized pearls, stolen as a means of currency but something she could never bear to part with, and readying herself for a night of selling herself to the highest bidder. Great-great Grandmother
would be so proud.

This book is one you definitely want to add to you TBR list...

Working Girl is a sort of modern day "coming of age" story to be - with family dynamics, friendships, relationships, and enough twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat! Working Girl brings out a host of emotions...you'll find yourself laughing at times and other times your heart will be torn into shreds. That is the epitome of a good book for me - one that can make me feel a whole range of emotions and keep me wanting and yearning for more. Working Girl was just that book for me.

Presley Adams grew up the daughter of a prostitute. She always told herself she would make something of herself and not follow into her mother’s footsteps. Presley enrolled in college and always stuck to herself until that one day when she met Emerson Williams. She wasn’t looking for a new friend or boyfriend. Emerson had this feeling in his gut that Presley needed him. As much as she pushed him away he never left her side. She was scared to let him in.

Emerson Williams, he had the looks, friends and money. He could have any girl he wanted but he chose Presley. She wasn’t the friendliest person to be around but that didn’t stop Emerson. He slowly chiseled away at her wall until there was a crack in it that slowly began to crumble and gave way.  He too was holding onto his past. He had to deal with a father who was mentally unstable and an event that happened to him when he was a teenager. However, he had the support and love of his mother.

With this book, you will experience such a tender, fragile love. As Emerson slowly breaks down Presely’s walls, its amazing to see her finally embrace love and start to feel worthy. You will have moments you want to scream at her for being so stupid, and moments you will cry for her and all she has endured. And then...just when things all start to come together - it happens. The biggest twist, the biggest shock, the biggest holy fuck moment that will shatter your world. The questions is - will it shatter Presley and Emerson’s?

I'm going to stop there and leave you with those thoughts...want to know more...I guess you will have to read the book then...I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

My name is Kendall Carrington—or so I thought.

One night, a routine traffic stop turned the world I thought I knew upside down. I wasn’t who I thought I was. No one was. I had been kidnapped when I was young, and everything I had been told was all a lie. But the lies didn’t end there. If it hadn’t been for Lincoln Hunt, I might not have ever found out the truth.

My real name is Danielle Tucker.

This is my story of pain, betrayal, and finding the true meaning of home. This is my story of pain, betrayal, and finding the true meaning of home

 About the Author

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped. She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females. The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. And to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

Review

4.5 "Oh My Goodness Gracious" Stars

Clearly this is NOT her first rodeo..Leddy Harper has to have several hidden books that just haven't surfaced. I was really shocked that this one was her first published.

First, I want to say I don't do spoilers when I post reviews, I feel that everyone needs to read and feel the emotions for themselves. So with that being said let's talk a little about Home No More.

I was immediately sucked in right from the start of this book and it didn't take long to feel a connection to these characters. It was realistic and tugged at my heart the entire time I was reading it. I laughed, I cried and I was even ticked off a few times as well.

You will completely fall in love with Link...he's that man every woman dreams of. Not just an amazing, hot lover BUT an amazing ROCK to everyone he comes into contact with. To say I fell hopelessly in love with him is an understatement.

If this book doesn't make you appreciate what you have in that special someone then nothing will. Some times we settle for what feels right because that's all we've ever known and miss out on what's truly meant to be.We all make choices in life and she was faced with the ultimate choice. Did she make the right one???? Hmmmm read it and see for yourself.

I can promise you this will be a quick and easy read because it's hard to put it down until you have those answers as to why. IF you are still  on the fence about reading this book go check out the trailer. It describes it perfectly!!!

PS....Loved and needed that epilogue :)

Excerpt:
She was smiling at Drayton, thinking she needed to spend more time with him like this, since she’d been focused a lot more on Mike than on him lately, when he asked into the silence, “What are you thinking about?”
“You,” she admitted, putting down her glass and leaning back in her seat. “Us. Our relationship. Do you ever want any more than what we have?”
She had no idea why she’d voiced the question that had been lingering in her mind for a couple of months now. She knew it went beyond the bounds of their established relationship. But it was honest, and Drayton felt safe at the moment. She really wanted to know.
He blinked slowly. Glanced away for a moment. Then turned back to meet her gaze. “I’m happy with the way things are.”
She gave a little nod, feeling a drop of disappointment. “Oh. Okay.”
“Aren’t you happy?”
“I am. I mean, what girl wouldn’t want great sex with two amazing guys. But, still, sometimes I wonder…it just sometimes feels like something is missing.”
He shook his head and leaned toward her. “Nothing is missing. Everyone, in any kind of relationship, sometimes wonders if something is missing. That’s because life can never offer us everything. We choose what’s most important to us and accept that there are some things we’ll never have. If you have some romantic notion about getting everything without giving up anything, you’ll always be disappointed. Life isn’t about perfect happy endings. They just don’t exist. It’s about choosing. And then about giving up what we don’t choose.”
She thought about his words and then nodded slowly. “Yeah. I know you’re right about that. But don’t you ever want to be close to us—with more than just your body.”
