EXCERPT:

The sound of the garage door going up startled me, setting me into motion. It was a good thing I had been trained to make split second decisions with limited information because that skill set was being put to the test right now. I moved toward the kitchen as I ran the possible scenarios through my head. If it was Serena using a friend’s place to lay low, then I was in the clear. If it was a boyfriend or family member of the dead author, I was probably screwed. A cleaning person or friend, I might be okay. The bottom line was, I had no way of knowing which scenario I was about to face, but it didn’t matter. There wasn’t a chance in hell I was going out the back without knowing if the person walking through that door was Serena.

Right as my decision was made, I heard the sound of the garage door lowering, quickly followed by the door connecting the garage to the house opening and closing. A deep feminine sigh resonated, but I stayed in position, on the other side of the refrigerator and out of sight. The sound of footsteps got closer and then a woman entered the kitchen. I hadn’t meant to make a noise, but I shifted as soon as I realized who was standing in front of me. I moved toward her so I could cover her mouth and get her under control before she screamed and one of the neighbors came to see what was wrong. And holy fuck, there was plenty wrong with this situation since the woman was supposed to be dead.

About Me
I absolutely adore reading - always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.

I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.

When I told my mom that my new year's resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me "About time!"

Excerpt:

“Yes!” I shrieked as I threw myself off the bed and into Drake’s arms in response to his proposal. “A million times yes.”

Knowing he’d been holding on to an engagement ring for so many months was a shock, although a much more pleasant one than the other one I’d received tonight. Sure, the idea of marrying Drake had crossed my mind from time to time even though our relationship was still relatively new and we were young. I’d been hiding after what had happened with Brad. His betrayal had made me lose faith in boys and love. Meeting Drake had brought me back to life and made me want more again, but we still had another year of school until we graduated from college. As much as I could picture myself with him forever, I hadn’t expected us to be engaged this soon.

Even though the timing wasn’t perfect and tonight was terrifyingly insane, there was no other answer I could give. The bottom line was this: I loved Drake beyond distraction and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

“You know you’re crazy, right?” I asked as I stared at the ring he had slid on my finger.

Drake flashed a grin my way, the one that showed off the dimple in his left cheek. “Crazy in love with you.”

My panties practically melted at his answer. “Your kind of crazy must be contagious then because I love you more than I ever expected it was possible to love another person.”

“How about you show me just how crazy we can be together?” he breathed out as his lips trailed down my neck.

Excerpt:
“Hi, Alec. I hope I’m not too early,” I heard a woman say softly after the sound of the door opening. Just the sound of her voice sent a chill up my spine.
“Not at all,” Alec replied. “Mom was just saying how excited she is you could come over before everyone else so she could catch up since it’s been so long since she’s seen you.”
“How sweet. It’s hard to believe it’s been seven years already. I guess they’re right when they say time flies,” she replied
“And I told you that you didn’t need to bring anything,” he scolded her in a teasing tone as they moved close to the kitchen.
I stood up from the table and hadn’t even taken a step when they made it into the kitchen. Alec hadn’t been kidding when he’d said that she wasn’t a dude. Jo, the girl my mom was urging my brother to ask out, was the caramel-haired beauty I hadn’t been able to get out of my mind since she was in my club. For her bachelorette party.
And then it hit me. My brother couldn’t ask her out because she was probably already married. It had been a little more than a month already. I glanced down at her ring finger and was shocked to find it bare. While I stood there in a stupor my mom had moved to give her a hug.

4.0 Stars!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Here goes!
You know when you read a book and you find yourself thinking of the characters throughout the day, wondering what they are doing? Those are the best kind of books to me. It means that the author has written a story that intrigues you and makes you want more. It makes you bring your reader where ever you go...hoping to catch a minute or two of time to dive back into the story. That is just what Sucked Into Love did for me.
It is a sexy love story, one that makes your mouth water for the very rich, very sexy Andrew as he pursues sweet Jocelyn. He is strong when you want him to be, kind when you need him to be and sexy as hell always. Jocelyn is one lucky lady! Jocelyn has faced rejection in her past, but pulls herself through. When she graduates and moves back home things all start to fall into place...and she meets Andrew. It's good.
If you are looking for a book that is full of angst and raw emotion, this isn't that book. But if you are looking for a great story, you won't be disappointed! Get you some of this! Enjoy!

Five Things You May Not Know About Sucked Into Love:
1. It was going to be my debut book until the idea for Push the Envelope smacked me upside the head and wouldn't let go.
2. The idea for Andrew and Jocelyn to meet at a fake bachelorette party was inspired by... a fake bachelorette party during a girls road trip weekend.
3. I hadn't planned on Jason being a major part of this series until he insisted he get his own story - and girl!
4. My favorite part of writing this book was the brainstorming session I had with my best friend many, many months ago.
5. The idea of a boarding school that was famous for some of it's sports programs may sound far-fetched, but fact is sometimes stranger than fiction as there really is one in Indiana.
