I read this as a standalone. It wasn't bad but there were a few references toward the end with some characters that were about past books. I would have liked to known the whole back story but I was able to take a guess.
Rachel escapes to Kauai to clear her head. She just dumped her boyfriend because it was a long distant relationship and knew it just wouldn't work out. Her soon to be brother-in-law sets her up at a nice hotel and tells her of a place she should visit. She runs into Hendrix and his brother Jackson Clark.
Rachel isn't really a one night stand girl however she meets Jackson Clark. If only these two would be truthful with each other. His past catches up to them and man does it makes some waves.
I enjoyed this book but there were pieces missing or sentences incomplete in my copy. This may have been because it was for an arc for a review, I'm not too sure. There weren't may instances but just a few. Also, towards the end, it seemed as though the story was sped up or rushed in some ways. I enjoyed this book, but it was not one that I just "had to know" what is going to happen.
