Badass: A Stepbrother SEAL Romance
I f**ked a SEAL—the human kind, the kind who shoots terrorists, sports rock hard abs and tattooed biceps, and scores an easy lay with every girl he ever wants.
I should’ve known better. I should be studying harbor seals’ breeding habits, not conducting my own research into mating rituals of the Navy variety.
He’s a jackass. An arrogant, womanizing, patronizing, Harley-riding jerk.
A one-night stand. One night of the most incredible sex I’ve ever had. Shane is trained to kill with his bare hands in 300 different ways—and he knows 300 ways to f**k me, too.
Now my father is engaged to his mother. And we’re heading to Mexico for the wedding. The prick is blackmailing me. He’s threatening to ruin their big day if I don’t surrender to his demands.
Quit is not in his vocabulary. I hate him, but I know he’ll never give up until he gets everything he wants.
Screw that! I won’t give up—I’ll never submit to America’s cockiest badass.

Genres: ContemporaryRomance, Suspense

Synopsis:
 ELLIE:

All I did was take a few pictures. I didn't realize I was witnessing a crime.

I was hoping for a kick-ass adventure when I set off on my dream vacation. Instead, I've fallen in with a ruthless band of thieves.

Kidnapped, bound, and ordered to submit, I'm stuck on a yacht with a sun-bronzed pirate who caught me photographing his antiquities-smuggling operation. He doesn't want me tagging along any more than I want to be here. But that hasn't stopped him from finding a use for me.

NICK:

She thinks I'm hard-assed. Dominating. Cruel. But I've got a dirty job to do. It has required months of scheming, a billionaire's yacht, and a shitload of priceless stolen artifacts.

I'm not about to be distracted by one inconvenient redhead. Even if she is supremely fuckable and oh-so-sweet when I have her on her knees.

She probably doesn't realize it, but I'm doing my best to protect her. There are guys here a lot badder than me. But I can't allow her to mess up my plans. There's no place in my life for softer emotions, and no space in my body for a heart.

UNCOVER ME is a contemporary romantic suspense novel with a touch of darkness. Intended for mature audiences.

REVIEW: 5 Stars

This book was confusing for me for the first chapter.  I will not lie, I just was not feeling this book.  Then all of a sudden, BAM!  I did not want to put it down.  Barlow blended and weaved in history, artifacts, and archaeology.  It almost reminds me of Indiana Jones.  Nothing over the top, just the right amount.

Ellie just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.  She's vacationing in Turkey, misses the curfew to a campsite and has to spend the night outside.  The next morning, she notices a beautiful sunrise.  While taking pictures, she notices a handsome looking thing, but upon further inspections, she realizes it's actually a crime happening before her eyes.  Bless her heart though, she's not as sneaky as she thought though.

Nick is stunned when he first sees Ellie.  His client demands that he end her life, but Nick cannot bring himself to do it.  Ellie becomes his captive instead.  This is all done to help save her life.  They both must convince others that Ellie is Nick's sex slave.  However, these two actually do have some great chemistry

I really enjoyed this book once I got past the first few chapters.  There is some history and a lot of mystery.  The book has a good pace.   It is told from both Ellie and Nick's point of view.  Like I said before, this was a book I did not want to put down.
